Description
This sheriff embroidered patch was custom designed for the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina, featuring a centered gold five-point star with rounded ball tips, a full color North Carolina state seal vignette, and the 1849 county founding date on a soft sage twill base.
Shape & Base: Tall rounded rectangle with softly curved corners, built on a sage green twill base and finished with a clean black merrowed border that traces the full perimeter and frames the design with a subdued formal edge.
Top Section: “SHERIFF” arches across the top of the patch in bold black block lettering with “ALAMANCE COUNTY” stitched directly beneath in the same black thread on a curved arch, together establishing the agency and jurisdiction identification across the upper portion of the patch.
Center: A large gold five-point sheriff’s star fills the middle of the patch with each point capped by a small gold ball, and a circular vignette of the North Carolina state seal sits at the heart of the star showing two robed allegorical figures of Liberty and Plenty against a green and blue landscape background. A white scroll banner reading “SHERIFF’S” arches across the top of the seal in black lettering, and the letters “N” and “C” flank the seal on either side in bold black block letters anchoring the state designation.
Bottom Section: A second white scroll banner curves across the lower portion of the star reading “OFFICE” in bold black block lettering, with “1849” stitched directly beneath in matching black thread marking the founding date of Alamance County and completing the full agency identification of the patch.
Embroidery Quality: Dense satin stitching delivers crisp edges on the large block lettering and clean point definition on the five-point star, while the central state seal vignette uses fine detail work and multi-tonal thread blending across the figures, robes, and landscape to capture the historic heraldry. The black merrowed border is tight and uniform throughout, and the sage twill base provides muted contrast that lets the gold star, white scrolls, and full color seal stand out clearly without overwhelming the subdued tone.
