The Onalaska Police Department serves a lakeside city in Polk County on the western shore of Lake Livingston, the largest lake in the Piney Woods of East Texas, north of Houston on US 190. Its patrolman badge is a traditional gold eagle-top shield with a full-color state seal at its heart and a rank line rarely seen on a modern badge.
