Description
The Perryton Police Department serves the seat of Ochiltree County at the very top of the Texas Panhandle, a wheat and energy town on US 83 just south of the Oklahoma line. Its badge wraps a flag-filled map of Texas in an antique silver oval, backed by a large star and framed by a laurel wreath around the full rim.
Shape and Base: The badge is an antique silver oval bordered by a sculpted laurel wreath, the finish darkened in the recesses so the leaves stand out in relief. A large silver five-point star sits behind the center, its points reaching out over a field of sunburst rays.
Center Design: A map of Texas enameled as the state flag spans the center — blue with a white star at the west, white and red across the east — and set onto it is a seal ringed THE STATE OF TEXAS in gold around a white star on blue.
