Description
The Ranger Police Department serves the City of Ranger in Eastland County, a West Central Texas town on I-20 west of Fort Worth that became one of the great oil boomtowns after the 1917 strike. Its officer badge sets a heraldic eagle at the center, holding the state seal on its chest, with the city and agency names on bold black ribbons.
Shape and Base: The badge is a polished silver oval with sunburst rays radiating across the field and a large silver five-point star rising behind the center. OFFICER arcs the crown in black block letters struck into the silver.
Center Design: A heraldic eagle stands at the heart of the badge, wings raised and spread, carrying on its chest a seal ringed THE STATE OF TEXAS in red around a white star on blue — the only color at the center of the badge.
Banner Lettering: RANGER and POLICE cross the lower field on two black enamel ribbons with silver letters and scrolled silver ends, reversing the usual dark-on-light lettering, and a silver TX panel closes the base.
Tonal Detail: Silver carries the oval, rays, star, and eagle while the black ribbons give the lower field a strong band of contrast, and the red and blue seal draws the eye to the center — a bold, graphic badge that reads clearly at a distance.
Finish Quality: Each badge is die-struck in solid metal, plated in polished silver, filled with black enamel at the ribbons and color enamel at the seal, and fitted with a pin-back and safety clasp. For the county lawman from the same Eastland County courthouse, see the Eastland County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named badges for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you put the seal on an eagle chest like this Ranger badge?
Yes. The heraldic eagle is sculpted with its wings raised and the seal mounted on its chest, so the two read as one emblem at the center of the badge. The seal can be your state, city, or county seal in full color, and you approve the eagle and seal layout on a free proof before tooling.
Can the ribbons be black with silver letters like these?
Yes. Filling the ribbons with black enamel and leaving the letters as raised silver reverses the usual scheme and gives the badge a bold band of contrast. The ribbons can also run navy, blue, or any department color.
What does a badge like this cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $150 each at low quantities down to roughly $50 each at higher volumes, with no setup fee and no mold fee. The sculpted eagle, black enamel ribbons, and full-color seal are all included in that range, confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take?
Approximately 8 to 14 weeks after proof approval, covering die tooling, striking in solid metal, silver plating, the black and seal enamel fills, and hand-finishing of the eagle relief.
Can the lettering be changed for our department?
Yes. OFFICER on the crown re-letters to any rank, RANGER and POLICE re-letter to your own city and agency, and the TX panel swaps to your state or a badge number.
Do we need credentials to order a badge with a real city name on it?
Yes. Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
