Description
The Rockdale Police Department serves a city in southern Milam County, northeast of Austin along the US 79 corridor in Central Texas. Its officer badge is a seven-point star in silver and black enamel, carrying a gold center disc lettered for the department and built around the state seal.
Shape and Base: The badge is a seven-point star with polished silver edges and each point filled in black enamel. A silver leaf filigree sprig is struck inside every point, and OFFICER crosses the top of the center on a gold ribbon in black block letters.
Center Design: A gold disc fills the heart of the star, ringed in gold and lettered ROCKDALE across the top and POLICE DEPARTMENT around the bottom, divided by two small stars. Inside it, a black enamel ring carries THE STATE OF TEXAS in gold letters above small ornaments, framing a gold seal star within a wreath.
Banner Lettering: A gold tab on the bottom point reads TEXAS in black letters, closing the design beneath the lettered ring.
Tonal Detail: Silver outlines the star and forms the filigree while black enamel fills every point and the inner ring, and gold takes the center disc, ribbon, and tab — a three-tone look from two metals and one enamel color.
Finish Quality: Each badge is die-struck in solid metal, plated in two-tone silver and gold, filled with black enamel at the points, inner ring, and lettering, and fitted with a pin-back and safety clasp. For the police department of the Milam County seat, see the Cameron Police badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named badges for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you make a seven-point star badge like this Rockdale design?
Yes. We strike stars in any point count, from five and six up to seven and beyond, with ball tips or sharp points. The seven points here give a broader, rounder silhouette than a classic five-point star, and you approve the outline on a free proof before tooling.
Can the black enamel points and filigree be changed?
Yes. The points can be filled with black, navy, or any enamel color, or left in bright metal, and the leaf filigree can be swapped for scrollwork, a pebble texture, or a plain field.
What does a badge like this cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $150 each at low quantities down to roughly $50 each at higher volumes, with no setup fee and no mold fee. The star die, filigree, lettered ring, and seal center are all included in that range, confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take?
Approximately 8 to 14 weeks after proof approval, covering die tooling, striking in solid metal, two-tone plating, the black enamel fills, and hand-finishing of the star points and filigree.
Can the OFFICER ribbon and TEXAS tab carry other text?
Yes. The ribbon can read SERGEANT, CORPORAL, LIEUTENANT, CHIEF, or any title, and the bottom tab can carry a badge number or unit name. ROCKDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT re-letters to your own city and agency.
Do we need credentials to order a badge with a real city name on it?
Yes. Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
