Description
This Refugio County Sheriff’s Department patch recreates the department’s shoulder emblem for the county whose seat is Refugio. Founded as a Mexican municipality in 1834 and established as a county in 1837, the county shares its name with its seat. A gold eagle over crossed U.S. and Texas flags, above three oil derricks, fills the center of this black shield.
Shape and Border: The patch is a shield with a rounded top and sides that taper to a point at the base, finished with a gold merrowed edge.
Center Design: A gold eagle with a white head and tail spreads its wings at the top of the design, gripping crossed gold staffs that carry the U.S. flag on the left and the Texas flag on the right. Below, three gold oil derricks stand in a row, the center tower taller than the two beside it.
Lettering: REFUGIO arches across the top, DEPT. sits below the eagle, and COUNTY runs across the base, all in gold block letters. A gold banner across the eagle’s chest reads SHERIFF in black.
Color and Thread: Gold thread carries the eagle, derricks, lettering, and border against the black background, while the red, white, and blue flags and the eagle’s white head add contrast.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For a department in a neighboring county, see the Aransas County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.

Production typically takes about three to six weeks after proof approval, covering digitizing, embroidery, merrowed edging, and backing. Your proof is confirmed before stitching starts.
Do I need credentials to order a Refugio County Sheriff’s Department patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
