This custom embroidered patch was designed for the City of Atlanta Police Department, featuring the iconic phoenix rising city seal that symbolizes Atlanta’s historic resilience and rebirth.
Shape & Base: Classic circular shape approximately 4″ in diameter with a black twill base and matching black merrowed border edge that creates a clean, tactical appearance ideal for uniform wear.
Top Section: The words “CITY OF ATLANTA” arch across the upper portion in bold gold block lettering, establishing immediate departmental identification with excellent contrast against the black background.
Center: A detailed inner circle bordered by a gold ring contains the historic Atlanta city seal. The Latin word “RESURGENS” (meaning “rising again”) curves along the top of the inner circle, with the dates “1847” and “1865” positioned on the left and right sides respectively—commemorating Atlanta’s founding and its rebirth after the Civil War. A magnificently embroidered silver and white phoenix with outstretched wings rises dramatically from stylized red and orange flames at the center, symbolizing the city’s renewal. “ATLANTA, GA.” curves along the bottom of the inner seal.
Bottom Section: The word “POLICE” appears prominently in large gold block lettering along the lower arc, completing the official law enforcement designation with commanding presence.
