How much do custom coins, patches and badges cost?

Custom challenge coins cost between $30 and $10 each depending on quantity. Custom embroidered patches run from $15.35 down to $1.75, PVC rubber patches from $25 down to $2.50, custom metal badges from $150 down to a floor of $50, and flex badges from $30 down to $6.

Every one of those prices includes your artwork, unlimited revisions, and the mold or digitizing work — we charge no setup fees and no mold fees on any product line at any quantity. Production runs 8 to 14 weeks. Price your exact quantity with the calculator above, or read the per-product breakdowns below.

Custom challenge coins for police, law enforcement and public safety agencies, priced from $10 per coin at 2,000

How much do custom challenge coins cost?

$30 at 10 · $10 at 2,000+

Custom challenge coins cost $30 each at ten pieces and $10 each past two thousand, for coins between 1.5 and 2.5 inches in diameter. The single sharpest drop on any of our ladders comes at fifty pieces, where the price falls from $25 to $17 — a unit that orders forty-nine coins pays $1,225, while fifty coins costs $850. From there it steps down to $15 at a hundred, $12 at five hundred, and $11 at a thousand.

Coins are ordered for retirements, commemorations, unit challenges and department anniversaries, which means quantity is usually set by headcount rather than budget. If your roster sits in the forties, reaching fifty is almost always worth doing. Mold work and artwork are included at no charge, and your die stays on file so a second run skips tooling entirely.

Custom embroidered shoulder patch with merrowed border, priced from $1. 75 per patch at 2,500

How much do custom embroidered patches cost?

$15.35 at 10 · $1.75 at 2,500+

Custom embroidered patches cost $15.35 each at ten pieces, falling to $1.75 past twenty-five hundred. This is the widest ladder we publish — sixteen separate volume tiers. One hundred patches are $4.35 each, two hundred are $2.85, five hundred are $2.35, and a thousand are $1.85. Hook-and-loop backing adds $2.00 per patch under a thousand pieces and $1.00 at a thousand or more.

Because the tiers are narrow through the middle of the ladder, quantity rounding pays off repeatedly: 199 patches costs $716.40 while 200 costs $570. Digitizing is included at every quantity, and there is no separate artwork or setup charge. Browse construction and backing options on the custom patches hub.

Custom pvc rubber patch with raised 3d detail for tactical wear, priced from $2. 50 per patch at 2,000

How much do PVC rubber patches cost?

$25 at 10 · $2.50 at 2,000+

PVC rubber patches cost $25 each at ten pieces and $2.50 past two thousand. They start higher than embroidered at low volume but fall faster in the middle of the ladder: $6 at a hundred, $4.50 at two hundred, $3.25 at five hundred, and $2.75 at a thousand. Hook-and-loop backing adds a flat $2.00 per patch at any quantity.

PVC holds fine detail that thread cannot and shrugs off weather and abrasion, which is why tactical units, K9 handlers and marine divisions specify it over embroidery. Molds are included at no charge and retained on file for reorders.

Custom gold eagle-top metal police badge with department seal, priced from $50 per badge at 100

How much does a custom metal badge cost?

$150 single · $50 at 100+

A custom die-struck metal badge costs $150 for a single badge and $50 each at one hundred or more. The curve is steep at the start and then stops: ten badges are $70 each, twenty are $65, fifty are $55, and at one hundred the price reaches its floor of $50 and holds there whether you order one hundred or five thousand.

That flat floor is worth planning around. An agency-wide rebadge is priced per unit identically at 100 as at 5,000, so there is no volume argument for splitting a department order across years. Explore shapes, finishes and rank structures on the custom badges hub.

Custom gold flex badge for soft uniform wear, priced from $6 per badge at 5,000

How much do flex badges cost?

$30 at 10 · $6 at 5,000

Flex badges cost $30 each at the ten-piece minimum and $6 each at five thousand. Fifty pieces are $15 each, one hundred are $10, five hundred are $8, and a thousand are $7. They are the soft-uniform alternative to die-struck metal — lighter, sewn or hook-backed, and substantially cheaper at volume.

Departments outfitting patrol, tactical and reserve officers in a single order usually land between 250 and 1,000 pieces, where the price sits at $9 to $7 each.

What a department rebadge actually costs

Badge budgets are usually set per officer, but volume pricing means cost per officer falls as headcount rises. The table below works the published ladders above against common department sizes: one metal badge and two embroidered shoulder patches per officer, plus a coin run at the same headcount if you are commemorating the changeover.

Worked examples · calculated from the published ladders
Department sizeMetal badgesShoulder patches (2 each)Commemorative coinsBadges + patches
10 officers$700$247$300$947
25 officers$1,500$268$700$1,768
50 officers$2,750$435$850$3,185
100 officers$5,000$570$1,500$5,570
250 officers$12,500$1,175$3,500$13,675

Read across and the per-officer economics are clear: at ten officers a badge and two patches runs about $95 per officer; at one hundred it is about $59; at two hundred and fifty it is about $56. Patches drive most of that improvement, because the patch ladder keeps falling well past the point where the metal badge price has flattened at $50.

These are calculations from the price tables on this page, not averages of past orders. Your actual figure depends on rank mix, finishes and how many spares you carry. Request a written quote for a number your purchasing department can process.

How volume pricing works

Most of what you pay for on a custom badge, patch or coin happens once, not per piece. Cutting the die, matching enamel colours, digitizing artwork — that work costs the same whether you order ten pieces or a thousand. Spreading it across more pieces is what drives the per-unit price down, and it is why the drop is steepest at the start of every ladder.

Because the tiers are stepped rather than sliding, ordering a few pieces more can genuinely cost you less money in total. Forty-nine challenge coins at $25 each is $1,225. Fifty coins at $17 each is $850 — one more coin, $375 less. The same crossover exists on every product line, and the calculator flags it whenever your quantity sits just below a break.

  • Setup, mold and die fees: none, on any product line, at any quantity.
  • Bulk and wholesale: volume pricing applies automatically — no account, contract or reseller application.
  • Reorders: your mold and artwork stay on file, so repeat orders skip the tooling step entirely.
  • Minimums: one badge for metal; ten pieces for coins, patches and flex badges.
  • Production window: 8 to 14 weeks. Rush options available on request.

Where to order once you have your price

The ladders above price the piece; the product pages set the spec. Coins are chosen by finish, diameter and enamel type, and those options are laid out on the challenge coin design and ordering options. Patches turn on construction and backing instead — merrowed or hot-cut border, sew-on or hook-and-loop — which is covered under custom patch construction options. Metal badges are specified by shape and rank structure, set out across the police department badge range.

Frequently asked questions

How much do custom challenge coins cost?

Custom challenge coins between 1.5 and 2.5 inches in diameter cost $30 each at ten pieces, $17 at fifty, $15 at one hundred, $12 at five hundred, and $10 past 2,000. The largest single drop is at fifty pieces, where the price falls from $25 to $17.

How much do custom patches cost?

Custom embroidered patches cost $15.35 each at ten pieces, $4.35 at one hundred, $2.35 at five hundred, and $1.75 past 2,500. PVC rubber patches cost $25 each at ten, $6 at one hundred, and $2.50 past 2,000. Digitizing and mold work are included at no charge.

How much does a custom badge cost?

A custom metal badge costs $150 for a single badge and drops with quantity to a floor of $50 per badge at 100 or more. Ten badges are $70 each and fifty are $55 each. Flex badges start at $30 each for ten pieces and fall to $6 at 5,000.

Do you offer bulk or wholesale pricing?

Yes. Every price on this page is volume pricing, applied automatically by quantity with no account, minimum contract or reseller application required. The published ladders are the same whether you are a department, a dealer or an individual buyer.

Is there a minimum order?

Metal badges have no minimum, so we make single badges for individual officers. Flex badges, embroidered patches, PVC patches and challenge coins all have a ten-piece minimum.

Do you charge setup, mold or digitizing fees?

No. There are no setup fees, no mold fees and no digitizing fees on any product line at any quantity. Your mold and artwork are retained on file, so reorders skip the tooling stage entirely.

Does ordering more actually cost less?

Sometimes, yes, in total and not just per piece. Because volume tiers are stepped, ordering one more piece can push you into a cheaper tier and lower your whole invoice. Forty-nine challenge coins cost $1,225; fifty cost $850.

How is shipping calculated?

Shipping is based on order weight and destination. The calculator shows an estimate drawn from our published shipping bands; the exact figure is confirmed on your written quote. Very large orders are quoted separately.

Do prices include artwork and revisions?

Yes. Custom artwork, department seal recreation and unlimited revisions are included in the per-piece price. Nothing enters production until you approve a digital proof.

How long does production take?

Standard production runs 8 to 14 weeks depending on product line and finish. Rush production is available on request.

Can I get a written quote for a purchase order?

Yes. Price your quantity and request a quote, and we will send a written quote with exact pricing, shipping and lead time that your purchasing department can process directly. You can also call 626-412-1200, Monday to Friday, 9AM to 4PM PST.

Can I put this calculator on my own website?

Yes, free of charge. Copy the embed snippet on this page. The widget pulls live pricing, so it stays current when our price book changes.
