TrueBadge Maintenance Kit Instructions

Why TrueBadge Wax is the Better Choice

Archival Protection: It is pH-neutral and specifically formulated to protect gold/colored plating and enamels from the acids in fingerprints and moisture, which cause long-term corrosion.

Daily Durability: Unlike standard waxes designed for static displays, TrueBadge Wax is formulated specially for law enforcement metal badges and dries to a harder film that is more resistant to the friction of uniform wear, badge holders, wallets and tactical vests.

Non-Greasy Finish: Once buffed, it does not attract dust or leave a sticky residue, keeping the badge looking professional on a uniform.

Long-Lasting: The 5-gram tin can last 2–4 years when used on a single badge.

Application Instructions

Apply every 4 months for optimal protection.

Step 1: PREPARATION Clean the badge with a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove all dust and oils. For deep cleaning, use a non-abrasive soap and water, ensuring it is 100% dry before waxing.

Step 2: APPLICATION Use a soft cloth to apply a very thin layer of wax. A little goes a long way; too much wax will make the badge look dull.

Step 3: BUFFING Allow the wax to set for 1–2 minutes, then buff it gently with a clean area of the Owl Badges cloth to restore the shine. Make sure to buff the wax that may go deep in the badge details.

Step 4: FREQUENCY The 4-month interval is ideal for active-duty badges, as physical contact and environmental exposure slowly wear the wax film down.
