Description
This metal badge features the Wise County Constable’s Office insignia, serving Wise County, Texas, northwest of Fort Worth with the county seat at Decatur. It is a five-point star-in-ring badge struck in polished gold, with engraved and pebbled star arms and flag panels set into the ring.
Shape & Base: A five-point star is die-struck in polished gold and set inside a circular ring, with rounded ball tips at the flanking points and a ball finial at the top of the ring. Engraved scrollwork runs along the borders of every star arm and the field inside each one is pebbled, so the gold carries texture at two scales across the face.
Center: A circular seal sits over the middle of the star, built as a red enamel ring carrying STATE OF across the top and TEXAS across the bottom in white lettering. Inside it, a blue enamel disc holds a gold star framed by a gold laurel wreath.
Ring & Banner Lettering: CONSTABLE arcs across the top of the outer ring in black-filled letters. Ribbon banners read WISE above the seal and COUNTY below it, and the star face carries its own lettering, with TEXAS CONSTABLE arcing above the seal and EST. 1823 below it. A gold plate at the base carries TX between laurel elements.
Enamel & Tonal Detail: The left and right arcs of the ring are filled with enamel flag panels, the United States flag on one side and the Texas flag on the other. Beyond those panels and the red and blue seal, the badge is carried entirely in polished gold, with black enamel used only as lettering fill.
Finish Quality: Die-struck in solid metal with a polished gold plating, hand-finished so the engraved borders stay sharp against the pebbled fields and the flag panels cure level in their arcs. For a closely related gold star-in-ring with the same flag panels, worked with filigree arms instead, see the Hood County Constable Precinct 2 badge.
