Description
The Mesquite Police Department serves the Rodeo Capital of Texas on the eastern side of Dallas County, where I-30, I-635, and US 80 converge. Its officer badge carries the most distinctive lettering treatment in this run of the gallery: the city and state ride the curve of the badge itself on navy enamel side arcs.
Shape and Base: The badge is a silver oval-shield wrapped in a rope wreath ring, with OFFICER crossing the polished crown arc in black. Down each shoulder, a navy enamel band follows the border — MESQUITE descending the left, TEXAS descending the right — in silver letters set along the curve.
Center Design: An oversized polished gold five-point star commands the field, its points reaching nearly rim to rim. Below it sits a navy seal medallion ringed THE STATE OF TEXAS in silver around the lone star and wreath, flanked by the United States and Texas flags draped in full-color enamel.
