Description
The McKinney Police Department serves the seat of Collin County, one of the fastest-growing cities in the country on the northern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Its officer badge balances a quiet silver shield against a rich center: a gold star draped in the two flags every Texas officer serves under.
Shape and Base: The badge is a brushed silver shield finished with fine pinstripe rays that run the full height of the field, crowned by a smooth polished arc carrying POLICE in black block letters. The restrained frame keeps every eye on the center work.
Center Design: A large polished gold five-point star anchors the badge, set with a navy enamel seal medallion ringed STATE OF and TEXAS in gold around the lone star and wreath. Draped behind the star to either side are the United States flag and the Texas flag in full-color enamel, their folds modeled in relief.
Banner Lettering: Below the star, a double gold scroll carries the city in two lines — McKINNEY above and TEXAS beneath — both in black lettering on the polished gold ribbon folds.
Tonal Detail: The scheme holds brushed silver for the shield and rays, polished gold for the star, seal ring, and scrolls, and saves its color for the flag enamels and the navy medallion — red, white, and blue carried exactly where the design means you to look.
Finish Quality: Each badge is die-struck in solid metal, plated in two-tone silver and gold, filled with hard enamel at the flags and seal, and fitted with a pin-back and safety clasp. For the county counterpart from the same Collin County courthouse, see the Collin County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named badges for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you make a badge with both flags draped behind the center star like this McKinney design?
Yes. Modeling the United States and Texas flags in full-color enamel with their folds in sculpted relief is one of the more demanding constructions we produce, and this die carries it cleanly behind the gold star. Departments in other states swap the Texas flag for their own state colors, and the artwork team proves the flag pairing before tooling begins.
What does a two-tone badge with enamel flags cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $150 each at low quantities down to roughly $50 each at higher volumes, with no setup fee and no mold fee. The multi-color flag enamels and the navy seal medallion are included in that range, and final pricing is confirmed with a free quote.
How long does a badge with this much detail take to produce?
Approximately 8 to 14 weeks after proof approval. The flag folds and pinstripe ray field add hand-finishing passes on top of die tooling, striking, two-tone plating, and the enamel fills, and every badge is inspected before shipment.
Can the POLICE arc carry a rank or unit name instead?
Yes. The polished arc re-letters to OFFICER, SERGEANT, DETECTIVE, SWAT, or any designation your department uses, and the double scroll below re-letters to your own city and state. Rank sets strike from the same die so the whole department stays uniform.
Can we choose a different center for the gold star?
Yes. The navy STATE OF TEXAS medallion can be replaced with your city seal, your department emblem, or another state seal, and the star itself can strike in silver against a gold shield for the reverse two-tone. Every variation is shown on a free proof first.
Do we need credentials to order a badge with a real city name on it?
Yes. Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
