Description
The Premont Police Department serves a small Brush Country city in southern Jim Wells County on US 281, between Alice and Falfurrias in the ranch country of South Texas. Its patrolman badge is a silver shield worked in black enamel, with an eagle spreading its wings above a black state seal and flags rendered in black and silver.
Shape and Base: The badge is a polished silver shield crowned by a black enamel star finial at the apex. PATROLMAN crosses the top on a silver band in black block letters, and beneath it a sculpted eagle head spreads its wings across the width of the shield.
Center Design: A seal ringed STATE OF TEXAS anchors the badge, its black enamel field carrying an engraved silver star and wreath. The United States and Texas flags spread from behind the seal at either side, filled in black enamel only.
Banner Lettering: CITY OF PREMONT arcs beneath the seal in black letters, a laurel spray fills the lower body, POLICE crosses a silver ribbon near the base, and a panel carrying the badge number 120 closes the shield.
Tonal Detail: Silver and black carry every element, with no color enamel anywhere — a subdued, formal badge where the eagle, flags, and laurel read through relief and black fill alone.
Finish Quality: Each badge is die-struck in solid metal, plated in polished silver, filled with black enamel at the finial, seal, and flags, and fitted with a pin-back and safety clasp. For the county lawman from the same Jim Wells County courthouse, see the Jim Wells County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named badges for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you make a silver and black patrolman badge like this Premont design?
Yes. Every color area here is filled with black enamel, so the seal, flags, and star finial read in strong contrast against polished silver without any bright color. It suits departments that want a formal, subdued look, and you approve the black fill areas on a free proof before tooling.
Is this layout available with color flags and a gold finish?
Yes. The same shield with star finial, eagle wings, flanking flags, and city arc can strike in gold with full-color flags and seal, or in two-tone. One die can produce both a subdued silver version and a color dress version.
What does a badge like this cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $150 each at low quantities down to roughly $50 each at higher volumes, with no setup fee and no mold fee. The sculpted eagle, black enamel fills, and laurel relief are all included in that range, confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take?
Approximately 8 to 14 weeks after proof approval, covering die tooling, striking in solid metal, silver plating, the black enamel fills, and per-badge number striking.
Can the rank and number be changed for each officer?
Yes. PATROLMAN re-letters to OFFICER, SERGEANT, LIEUTENANT, or any title, and the number panel is struck individually on each piece in the order. CITY OF PREMONT and POLICE re-letter to your own city and agency.
Do we need credentials to order a badge with a real city name on it?
Yes. Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
