Description
The Schertz Police Department serves a growing city northeast of San Antonio along Interstate 35, set mostly in Guadalupe County with portions in Bexar and Comal counties. Its corporal badge is struck entirely in gold around a raised Texas map, with the rank shown both in words and as two chevrons on the base tab.
Shape and Base: The badge is a polished gold oval with a laurel wreath running around the rim and fine rays fanning across its face. CORPORAL arches across the top on a gold ribbon, and SCHERTZ follows on a second ribbon just beneath it, both in bold black block letters.
Center Design: A raised gold Texas map spans the width of the oval, set against the ray field. At the center of the map sits a seal disc lettered STATE OF TEXAS around a star within a wreath.
Banner Lettering: POLICE DEPARTMENT crosses a curved gold ribbon beneath the map in bold black block letters, and a small gold tab at the base carries two raised chevrons marking the rank of corporal.
Tonal Detail: The whole badge is one warm gold tone, with black enamel reserved for the lettering — so the map, laurel, and chevrons read through relief and polish alone.
Finish Quality: Each badge is die-struck in solid metal, plated in polished gold, filled with black enamel at the lettering, and fitted with a pin-back and safety clasp. For the county lawman from the same Guadalupe County courthouse, see the Guadalupe County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named badges for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you add rank chevrons to a badge like this Schertz design?
Yes. Rank chevrons are struck in raised relief on a small base tab, so the rank reads at a glance even without the ribbon. One, two, or three chevrons, rockers, or bars can be used, and you approve the insignia on a free proof before tooling.
Can we order the same badge for several ranks?
Yes. One design can be produced in a set for every rank, changing the top ribbon and the insignia on the base tab while keeping the rest of the badge identical. This keeps a department matched from officer to chief.
What does a badge like this cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $150 each at low quantities down to roughly $50 each at higher volumes, with no setup fee and no mold fee. The laurel rim, raised map, seal disc, and chevron tab are all included in that range, confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take?
Approximately 8 to 14 weeks after proof approval, covering die tooling, striking in solid metal, gold plating, the black lettering fill, and hand-finishing of the laurel and chevrons.
Can this badge be made in silver or two-tone?
Yes. The same die strikes in silver, gold, or two-tone, with the map and ribbons in one metal and the oval in the other. SCHERTZ and POLICE DEPARTMENT re-letter to your own city and agency.
Do we need credentials to order a badge with a real city name on it?
Yes. Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
