Description
This Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department patch recreates the department’s shoulder emblem for the East Texas county whose seat is Rusk and whose largest city is Jacksonville. It is a black shield built around a round portrait medallion, with gold lettering above and below.
Shape and Border: The patch is a black shield with an arched top, rounded shoulders, and sides that curve in to a rounded base, finished with a gold merrowed border around the full edge.
Center Design: A round medallion sits at the center, framed by a gold ring around a green field. Inside it is a right-facing profile of a Native American figure wearing a feathered headdress in red, gold, and green, with brown shoulders and a small green-and-gold ornament hanging beside the face. A slender gold staff stands on each side of the medallion, each topped with a small green-and-gold tomahawk-shaped head and tapering to a point at the bottom.
Lettering: SHERIFF arches across the top of the shield in large gold block letters, with DEPT. set on a straight line beneath it. CHEROKEE and COUNTY are stacked below the medallion in gold, and STATE OF TEXAS curves along the lower edge of the shield.
Color and Thread: Gold on black carries the lettering, staffs, and border, while the red, gold, and green headdress and the green field give the center medallion its color and make it the focal point of the patch.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For the metal version from the same department, see the Cherokee County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department design, including the round portrait medallion framed by two gold staffs, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
Can you embroider a detailed portrait inside a round medallion?
Yes. A profile portrait can be stitched inside a ringed medallion with separate thread colors for the face, the headdress feathers, and the background, so fine detail stays readable at shoulder-patch size.
Can the medallion or the side staffs be replaced with our own emblem?
Yes. The center medallion can carry a county seal, a star, or another emblem of your choice, and the side staffs can be kept, removed, or swapped for other accents. The SHERIFF DEPT. title and the lower lettering can be changed as well.
What does a sheriff patch like this cost?
Estimated pricing starts at about $17 each at 10 pieces and drops to roughly $2 each at 1,000 pieces, with no setup fee. Final pricing depends on size, stitch count, and quantity, and is confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take for a patch like the Cherokee County design?
Production typically takes about three to six weeks after proof approval, covering digitizing, embroidery, merrowed edging, and backing. Your proof is confirmed before stitching starts.
Do I need credentials to order a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
