Description
This Dallas County Sheriff’s Office patch recreates the department’s shoulder emblem for the North Texas county whose seat is the city of Dallas. Its black shield, trimmed in gold, carries a round COUNTY OF DALLAS seal with a gold star and green wreath at the center.
Shape and Border: The patch is a black shield with a nearly flat top and rounded upper corners. Its straight sides curve inward near the bottom to meet at a rounded point, and a gold merrowed border runs around the full edge.
Center Design: A round seal fills the lower part of the shield. At its center, a gold five-point star is framed by two green leafy branches that rise on either side of it, the star-and-wreath arrangement of the Texas state seal. A gold ring encloses the star and wreath, and a thinner gold ring outlines the seal.
Lettering: SHERIFF runs across the top of the shield in large gold block letters. Around the seal, COUNTY OF DALLAS arches over the top and STATE OF TEXAS curves along the bottom in gold, with a small gold star on each side dividing the two lines.
Color and Thread: The palette is limited to black, gold, and green. Gold carries the border, lettering, rings, and stars, while the green wreath is the single accent color at the center of the seal.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For the metal version from the same department, see the Dallas County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Dallas County Sheriff’s Office design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Dallas County Sheriff’s Office design, including the gold star inside the green wreath, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
Can small stars be used to separate the lettering around a seal?
Yes. Small stars can be stitched between two lines of ring lettering, as they are on each side of this seal between COUNTY OF DALLAS and STATE OF TEXAS, so each line reads as its own phrase. Dots, bars, or other small marks can be used the same way.
Can a wreath of leaves be embroidered around a center star?
Yes. A wreath can be stitched in green thread with each leaf defined separately, as the two branches are here, so it frames a center star or emblem and stays clear at patch size. It can be stitched as a full ring or as two branches like these.
What does a sheriff patch like this cost?
Estimated pricing starts at about $17 each at 10 pieces and drops to roughly $2 each at 1,000 pieces, with no setup fee. Final pricing depends on size, stitch count, and quantity, and is confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take for a patch like the Dallas County design?
Production typically takes about three to six weeks after proof approval, covering digitizing, embroidery, merrowed edging, and backing. Your proof is confirmed before stitching starts.
Do I need credentials to order a Dallas County Sheriff’s Office patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
