Municipal Police K9 Patch — Order This Lighthouse and Wave Shield
Design S0865A at a glance
A black-edged shield in green, black and silver, with a lighthouse and a wave as its emblem. The lettering carries a department name, a municipal police line, an established year, a K9 unit line and a narcotics-and-search line. The lighthouse makes it a waterfront patch; the K9 lines make it the handler team's own.

About this lighthouse and wave K9 shield
Green is rare on police insignia, and paired with black and silver it gives this shield a weathered, maritime character that suits coastal towns. The lighthouse stands for guidance and watchfulness, both apt for a detection team, and the wave ties it to the water. The emblem stays maritime, so the K9 lines carry the unit's identity.
Order it as shown or tailor it: set your department name and founding year, reword the narcotics-and-search line for your dog's specialty, add a shepherd or Malinois beside the lighthouse, or recolor the green to navy. This page shows a design concept we manufacture to order — your stitch-ready proof arrives 6–12 hours after you order, and nothing is produced until you approve it.

Who orders this design
Municipal police K9 units in coastal, lake and river towns order this shield for handler vests and duty shirts, with the lower lines naming the dog's specialty — narcotics, search, patrol or tracking. Departments without a waterfront often swap the lighthouse for a town landmark. Handler teams commonly add a small run for kennel tees.

Municipal police K9 patch questions
Can we add our dog to the emblem?
Yes. Send a photo of your K9 and we redraw its head beside the lighthouse at no art charge; the proof shows the placement before production.
Can the specialty line change to patrol or tracking?
Yes. The narcotics-and-search line restitches to any specialty, and the department name, year and K9 unit line change the same way.
Our town isn't on the water — does the lighthouse still work?
Swap it. A town landmark, bridge or courthouse redraws in its place at no art charge, keeping the shield and lettering layout.
What backing fits a handler vest?
Hook-side velcro mates with the loop panel on most handler vests; order sew-on for duty shirts on the same quote.
How do I request changes?
Use the markup tool in the quote form: circle the lighthouse, pin notes on the lettering, switch colorways. The marked-up design attaches to the quote.
