About this subdued batons, handcuffs and book design
Narcotics and contraband K9 teams often work in plain clothes or low-profile kit, so a full-color patch would work against them. This design keeps everything in black and grey: crossed batons and handcuffs for enforcement, an open book for law and training. Tone-on-tone stitching means the patch identifies the unit to colleagues without drawing attention from across the street.
Make it your unit's: add a paw print or dog head, reword the four lettering fields, or switch to coyote and black for desert kit. This page shows a design concept we manufacture to order — your stitch-ready proof arrives 6–12 hours after you order, and nothing is produced until you approve it.

Who orders this design
Police K9 narcotics teams, contraband interdiction units and drug task force handlers order this subdued design for carriers, harnesses and duty bags. Subdued K9 narcotics patch questions
Can a dog or paw print be added to this design?
Yes. A dog head or paw print can sit over the book or replace one baton, redrawn at no art charge. Your proof shows the addition before production.
Is there a full-color version for dress uniforms?
Yes. The same artwork stitches in navy, gold and white for a dress edition. Order both versions on one quote.
Will tone-on-tone lettering still be readable?
At arm's length, yes — that's the point of the build. If you want it readable at distance, we can lighten the grey on the proof.
What size fits a K9 harness?
Most harness panels take a 2- to 3-inch patch with hook-side velcro. Add the smaller size to the same order.
Can the unit line be changed to interdiction or detection?
Yes. All four lettering fields restitch to your wording, including unit lines like Interdiction, Detection or Contraband.
