Winged Shield Police Patch — Order This Ram Head and Handcuffs Design
Design S1716A at a glance
A winged shield carries a ram head, a US flag and a pair of handcuffs on this badge-shaped patch, edged in navy merrow. Four lettering fields hold a place name, a police line and two short mottos. Five thread colors — navy, tan, brown, red and white — give the design more detail than most department patches carry.

About this winged shield and ram head police badge
Wings on a shield signal speed and reach, and the ram head adds stubborn strength — a combination that suits departments covering open or hilly country. The US flag places the emblem squarely in American policing, while the handcuffs make the law enforcement role explicit. With five thread colors, the badge has room for real detail without losing the clean navy frame.
Customize it for your department: put your name and mottos in the lettering, redraw the ram as your own mascot, or order a subdued tan-and-brown version for carriers. This page shows a design concept we manufacture to order — your stitch-ready proof arrives 6–12 hours after you order, and nothing is produced until you approve it.

Winged shield police patch questions
Can the flag face the other way for a right-sleeve patch?
Yes. We can mirror the flag so the stars lead forward on the right sleeve, and order left and right versions in the same quote.
Can we replace the ram with our own mascot?
Yes. Send a photo or sketch of your mascot and we redraw it on the winged shield at no art charge.
Is there a subdued version for carriers?
Yes. We can stitch the design in tan, brown and black for carriers and show it next to the full-color version on your mockup.
Do we need both mottos?
No. Either motto line can be removed or reworded, and the layout is rebalanced on your proof.
What size keeps all five colors clear?
4 inches and up keeps the ram, flag and handcuffs distinct. Smaller sizes get slight simplification, which you approve first.
