About this paw print compass star round
Not every K9 patch needs a dog's head. A single paw print on a compass star says canine and search in two shapes, and it leaves the art clean enough to read at cap size. The compass points suggest the team's reach — tracking, area searches and building clears — while the round format fits anywhere: sleeves, vests, caps and dog harnesses.
Put your unit name and division line in the lettering, recolor the paw or star, or add your dog's name below the compass. This page shows a design concept we manufacture to order — your stitch-ready proof arrives 6–12 hours after you order, and nothing is produced until you approve it.

Canine division patch questions
Why choose a paw instead of a dog's head?
A paw reads clearly at very small sizes and works for any breed, so one patch covers the whole division even as dogs change.
Can we add our dog's name?
Yes. A name can sit below the compass or replace a lettering line — useful for handler-specific runs.
What size works on a cap?
2 to 2.5 inches across. The paw and compass stay readable at that size.
Is there a subdued version?
Yes. Blackout, coyote tan and OD green versions embroider well; preview each in the markup tool.
Can the compass star have more points?
Yes. We can redraw it as a four-, eight- or sixteen-point compass at no art charge.
