Description
This Sterling County Sheriff’s Office patch recreates the office’s shoulder emblem for the Edwards Plateau county whose seat is Sterling City. Established and organized in 1891 from Tom Green County, the county is named for W. S. Sterling, an early settler in the area. A flag-colored Texas map set inside a large gold star fills the center of this royal blue shield.
Shape and Border: The patch is a shield with an arched top, rounded upper corners, and sides that taper to a point at the base, finished with a royal blue merrowed edge and a thin gold line just inside it.
Center Design: A large plain gold five-point star fills the middle of the shield. At its center sits a Texas map in flag colors, blue across the west with a white star, white across the upper east, and red across the lower east, with the map’s edges reaching onto the star’s arms.
Lettering: SHERIFF arches across the top in gold serif letters. STERLING runs down the left edge of the shield and COUNTY up the right edge in matching gold serif letters, framing the star.
Color and Thread: Gold on royal blue gives the patch a bright, classic look, while the red, white, and blue map adds color at the center of the star.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For a department in a neighboring county, see the Coke County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Sterling County Sheriff’s Office design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Sterling County Sheriff’s Office design, including the gold star, flag-colored map, and side lettering, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
Can a flag-colored Texas map be set inside a star instead of behind it?
Yes. On this design the red, white, and blue Texas map sits at the center of a plain gold star, with its edges reaching onto the star’s arms, so the star frames the map instead of covering it.
