Community Police Department Patch — Order This Eagle and Lightning Round
Design S0988A at a glance
A notched round with a navy edge, worked in blue, gold and white, with an eagle with lightning bolts over a star at the center. The lettering names a police department, a founding year and a community service and protection motto; every line restitches to your wording, and the eagle can be redrawn in a different pose.

About this eagle and lightning notched round
Lightning bolts with an eagle usually signal rapid response, and pairing them with a motto about community service balances speed with care — a fair summary of modern patrol work. The notched edge gives the round a seal-like rim, and the blue-gold-white palette stays bright enough for outreach events without losing its authority.
Make it your department's: set your name and founding year in the lettering, rewrite the motto, or swap the lightning bolts for an olive branch if you want the community side to lead. This page shows a design concept we manufacture to order — your stitch-ready proof arrives 6–12 hours after you order, and nothing is produced until you approve it.

Community police department patch questions
Can we rewrite the motto?
Yes. The motto line restitches to your own community pledge; around 30 characters fit cleanly at 3.5 inches.
Can we order small giveaway patches in the same run?
Yes. Add a 2- or 3-inch version for school visits and community events to the same order and proof.
Can the lightning bolts be replaced?
Yes — an olive branch, a key or a laurel can go with the eagle instead, redrawn at no art charge.
What does the notched edge do?
It breaks up the circle so the patch reads like a seal. It's finished with a hot-cut edge, so the notches stay sharp after washing.
How do I request edits?
Use the markup tool in the quote form: circle the eagle or motto, pin notes and switch colorways. The marked-up version attaches to your quote automatically.
Comparing outreach and patrol designs?
This notched round leans toward community policing. If your department needs K9, traffic or detective insignia instead, the police patch styles beyond the eagle and lightning notched round cover those units shape by shape. For giveaway sizing, iron-on versus sew-on and quantity price breaks, the patch pricing guide for eagle lightning notched round orders has the numbers for every build.
