About this Malinois crescent moon oval
The Belgian Malinois has become the working breed of choice for many police K9 programs, and this oval gives it center stage on a shield. The crescent moon and stars add a night-watch theme, a nod to the overnight calls K9 teams so often answer. The oval outline keeps the composition balanced, and the green and gold palette stands apart from navy patrol patches.
Order it as shown or adjust it: your department name in the top line, a new motto, the Malinois redrawn as a shepherd or your own dog, or the green field recolored to navy. This page shows a design concept we manufacture to order — your stitch-ready proof arrives 6–12 hours after you order, and nothing is produced until you approve it.

Oval police K9 patch questions
Can the Malinois be redrawn as our dog?
Yes. Send a clear photo and we redraw the head with your dog's markings at no art charge.
Can the motto be more than one word?

Can the moon and stars be removed?
Yes. We can drop them or replace them with a sunburst or other symbol your unit prefers.
What size is standard for an oval?
3 by 4 inches is a common shoulder size; we can scale up to 12 inches for jacket backs.
Is there a subdued option?
