Design S1316A at a glance
An oval police patch with a gold merrowed edge, showing an osprey in flight over a gold star badge. Five lettering lines carry a department name, a police line, a K-9 unit callout, a county line and a motto. Navy, gold, white and brown keep the bird natural and the badge formal.

About this osprey and gold star K9 design
An osprey is a sharp-eyed hunter known for precision, which makes it a fitting emblem for a detection dog team. Placing it over a gold star keeps the patch tied to the department rather than turning it into wildlife art. The oval outline gives the five lettering lines a smooth path, so the unit name and motto stay readable even on a busy design.
Customize it for your unit: your department name on the top line, your own motto, a dog added beneath the star, or a bald eagle in place of the osprey. This page shows a design concept we manufacture to order — your stitch-ready proof arrives 6–12 hours after you order, and nothing is produced until you approve it.

Osprey police K9 patch questions
Can we add our dog to this design?
Yes. A German shepherd, Malinois or your own dog redraws beneath the star from a photo, at no art charge.
Can the osprey be swapped for another bird?
Yes. A bald eagle, hawk or falcon redraws in its place, and your proof shows the new bird before production.
Will five lettering lines fit at sleeve size?
Yes, at 3.5 by 4.5 inches. On smaller versions we suggest trimming to three lines.
What backing works for a K9 harness?
Hook-side velcro mates with the loop panels on most harnesses and vests, so one patch moves between gear.
How do I show you changes to the osprey oval?
Mark them with the markup tool in the quote form — circle the osprey or the star, pin a note on any line, switch the colorway. Your marked-up version attaches to the quote automatically.
Comparing other police K9 patches?
This oval swaps the dog for a bird of prey. The police patch lineup beside this osprey and gold star oval includes dog-portrait rounds, stars and patrol shields. For builds and backings, the patch ordering guide for an osprey K9 oval run compares embroidered, woven and PVC.
