Description
The Winter Garden Police Department serves Winter Garden, a city in Orange County in Central Florida, west of Orlando near Lake Apopka. This badge carries a full-color Florida seal at its center.
Shape & Base: A polished gold shield forms the body of the badge, narrowing to a point at the bottom. A spread-winged eagle with engraved feather detail perches at the crest, gold laurel branches curve up both sides from the base with each leaf struck separately, and a pebbled field fills the face behind the banners with a sunburst fanning out behind the seal.
Center: A circular medallion sits at the heart of the badge in a raised gold ring, its band left plain rather than lettered. Inside runs a full-color scene: a green palm tree at upper left against a pale sky, a gold sunburst radiating at upper right, a green Florida state outline standing at the center against blue enamel water, and a small gold band across the foot reading IN GOD WE TRUST.
Banner Lettering: Four lettering zones stack down the face. A gold scroll ribbon with folded ends reads POLICE in large letters at the top, a wider scroll below it reads WINTER GARDEN, a third scroll with curled ends sits beneath the seal reading FLORIDA, and a flat rectangular plaque with a raised border closes the base reading DEPT. Every letter is raised gold filled with black enamel.
Enamel Detail: Color is held to two registers. Black enamel fills all four lettering zones, giving the raised gold text a hard edge against the banners. Full-color enamel is confined to the seal, where the palm, the sky, the sunburst, the state outline, and the water each sit in a separate recessed cell. The laurel takes no enamel at all and stays bare gold.
Finish Quality: Polished gold carries the shield, the eagle, the laurel, the banners, and every letter, with no secondary plating tone. The pebbled field and the sunburst are struck at different scales so the banners read against texture while the seal sits against rays, and the laurel leaves separate cleanly at badge scale without color to help them. For another gold laurel badge with a full-color state seal, see the Huntsville Police Department badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named badges for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom metal badge like the Winter Garden Police design?
Yes. Owl Badges produces die-struck metal badges for police departments nationwide. This eagle-topped shield style can be ordered as shown, or the seal and the four lettering zones can be changed to your own city, state, and department. There is no setup fee and no mold fee.
Can you leave the seal ring plain instead of lettering it?
Yes. The ring around the seal on this badge is struck plain, which lets the four banners carry all the text and keeps the medallion reading as an image rather than a label. We can letter the ring, leave it bare, or drop the ring entirely and set the seal straight into the field.
Can you strike a pebbled field and a sunburst on the same badge?
Yes. This badge does both, at different scales: the pebbled texture fills the face behind the banners while a finer sunburst fans out behind the seal. Working two textures against each other separates the zones without needing extra color, and we can adjust either one or use a single texture across the face.
How long does production take for a badge like this?
Custom metal badges take approximately 8 to 14 weeks after proof approval, covering tooling, striking, plating, and finishing. A badge with struck laurel, two field textures, four lettering zones, and a multi-color seal sits toward the longer end of that window. Your design is confirmed on a free proof before any tooling is cut.
How much does a custom metal badge like this cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $150 each at single quantities down to roughly $50 each at higher volumes, with no setup fee and no mold fee. The laurel detail and the number of enamel colors in the seal place a badge like this at the detailed end of the range. Final pricing is confirmed with a free quote.
Do I need credentials to order a badge with the Winter Garden Police name on it?
Yes. Metal badges bearing a real agency name — including the Winter Garden Police Department — are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives, and require proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter. If you change the seal and department name to your own, no credentials are needed.
