Description
The Palmview Police Department serves a growing city in western Hidalgo County in the Rio Grande Valley, just west of Mission along the US 83 corridor toward La Joya. Its officer badge sets a warm antique-gold map of Texas against a cool silver oval, a two-metal contrast built around the center of the badge.
Shape and Base: The badge is a silver oval with sunburst rays radiating across the full field and laurel wreath work climbing the lower flanks. PALMVIEW arcs the crown on a broad silver ribbon in black block letters, with drape tails at the shoulders.
Center Design: A map of Texas in an antique-gold finish anchors the badge, its warm bronze tone standing out against the silver rays behind it. Set onto the map is a seal ringed THE STATE OF TEXAS in black around a green field with a gold lone star.
Banner Lettering: POLICE crosses the lower field on a silver ribbon in bold black letters, and a silver TX panel closes the base of the oval between the laurel sprays.
Tonal Detail: Silver carries the oval, rays, wreath, and ribbons while the antique-gold map and green seal hold the center — a restrained palette where one warm element does all the work of drawing the eye.
Finish Quality: Each badge is die-struck in solid metal, plated in polished silver with a selective antique-gold finish on the map, enamel-filled at the seal, and fitted with a pin-back and safety clasp. For the county lawman over the same Hidalgo County neighborhoods, see the Hidalgo County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named badges for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you put an antique-gold map on a silver badge like this Palmview design?
Yes. The map takes a selective antique-gold finish, a warm bronze tone softer than polished gold, while the rest of the badge plates in bright silver. The contrast makes the map the focal point without adding enamel color. Any element can take a selective finish, and you see it on a free proof before tooling.
Can the seal on the map be changed to our city seal?
Yes. The medallion can carry your municipal, county, or state seal in full color, or strike as engraved metal. The black ring can re-letter to your agency name, and the green field can switch to your department color.
What does a badge like this cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $150 each at low quantities down to roughly $50 each at higher volumes, with no setup fee and no mold fee. The selective map finish, enamel seal, and laurel relief are all included in that range, confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take?
Approximately 8 to 14 weeks after proof approval, covering die tooling, striking in solid metal, silver plating with the selective map finish, the seal enamel fill, and hand-finishing of the laurel and ray detail.
Can the ribbons be re-lettered for our department?
Yes. PALMVIEW on the crown re-letters to your own city, POLICE can read SHERIFF, MARSHAL, or any agency word, and the TX panel swaps to your state or a badge number. A rank line can be added above or below the map.
Do we need credentials to order a badge with a real city name on it?
Yes. Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
