Description
The Quitman Police Department serves the seat of Wood County in the lakes and piney hills of Northeast Texas, a courthouse town north of Tyler near Lake Fork and Lake Quitman. Its chief badge sets a full-color state seal on an ornate gold scrolled mount, framed by a silver oval with a laurel wreath around the full rim.
Shape and Base: The badge is a silver oval bordered by a sculpted laurel wreath rim, with deep sunburst rays radiating across the field. CHIEF arcs the crown on a broad gold ribbon in black letters, with QUITMAN on a second gold ribbon just beneath it.
Center Design: A full-color seal anchors the badge, ringed STATE OF TEXAS in red around a gold lone star and wreath on blue, and it sits on an ornate gold mount of curling acanthus-style leafwork that cradles the seal on both sides.
Banner Lettering: POLICE DEPARTMENT sweeps across the lower field on a long gold ribbon in black letters, and a gold TEXAS panel with scrolled ends closes the base of the oval.
Tonal Detail: Silver carries the oval, rim, and rays while gold takes the ribbons, scrolled mount, and base panel, and the red and blue seal supplies the color at the heart — a formal command badge where the ornate mount gives the seal a jewelry-like setting.
Finish Quality: Each badge is die-struck in solid metal, plated in two-tone silver and gold, enamel-filled at the seal, and fitted with a pin-back and safety clasp. For the county counterpart from the same Wood County rolls, see the Wood County Constable badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named badges for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you set our seal on an ornate scrolled mount like this Quitman badge?
Yes. The gold mount of curling leafwork is sculpted into the die around the seal, so the seal sits in a raised, jewelry-like setting rather than flat on the field. The scrollwork can be more or less ornate, and you approve the mount design on a free proof before tooling.
Can the seal be our city seal instead of the state seal?
Yes. The medallion carries any seal in full color, whether state, city, or county, and the scrolled mount adapts to its size. A clean image or vector of your seal is all the artwork team needs.
What does a chief badge like this cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $150 each at low quantities down to roughly $50 each at higher volumes, with no setup fee and no mold fee. The scrolled mount, laurel rim, and full-color seal are all included in that range, confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take?
Approximately 8 to 14 weeks after proof approval, covering die tooling, striking in solid metal, two-tone plating, the seal enamel fill, and hand-finishing of the scrollwork and laurel relief.
Can other ranks use this design?
Yes. CHIEF on the crown re-letters to OFFICER, SERGEANT, LIEUTENANT, or any title, QUITMAN and POLICE DEPARTMENT re-letter to your own city and agency, and the TEXAS panel swaps to your state or a badge number.
Do we need credentials to order a badge with a real city name on it?
Yes. Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
