Description
The San Angelo Police Department serves the county seat of Tom Green County, the largest city in the Concho Valley of West Texas. Its patrol badge sets a gold Texas map edged in red and blue enamel at the center of a silver laurel oval, with a star medallion at the heart of the map.
Shape and Base: The badge is a silver oval with a laurel wreath running around the rim and fine rays fanning across its face. PATROL arches across the top on a gold ribbon in bold black serif letters, and POLICE follows on a second gold ribbon just beneath it.
Center Design: A raised gold Texas map spans the width of the oval, bordered along its upper edge in red enamel and along its lower edge in blue. At the center of the map sits a round gold medallion carrying a five-point star with small stars set around it.
Banner Lettering: SAN ANGELO crosses a curved gold ribbon beneath the map, and a small gold scroll tab at the base reads TEXAS, both in bold black serif letters.
Tonal Detail: Silver carries the oval, laurel, and rays while gold takes the ribbons, map, medallion, and tab, and the red and blue enamel bands trace the edges of the map — a patriotic accent that outlines the state rather than filling it.
Finish Quality: Each badge is die-struck in solid metal, plated in two-tone silver and gold, filled with red and blue enamel at the map edges and black enamel at the lettering, and fitted with a pin-back and safety clasp. For another West Central Texas department, see the Abilene Police badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named badges for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you edge the Texas map in color like this San Angelo badge?
Yes. Enamel edging traces the outline of the map in one or more colors while leaving the map face in bright metal, so the state shape stands out without being fully filled. Red and blue as shown, a single color, or a full flag fill are all options, and you approve the look on a free proof before tooling.
Can the star medallion at the center be changed?
Yes. The medallion can hold a star as shown, the state seal, a city emblem, or a badge number. It is struck in raised relief so it sits above the map face and catches light.
What does a badge like this cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $150 each at low quantities down to roughly $50 each at higher volumes, with no setup fee and no mold fee. The laurel rim, enamel-edged map, star medallion, and ribbons are all included in that range, confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take?
Approximately 8 to 14 weeks after proof approval, covering die tooling, striking in solid metal, two-tone plating, the red, blue, and black enamel fills, and hand-finishing of the laurel and map edges.
Can the PATROL ribbon carry a different title?
Yes. The top ribbon can read OFFICER, SERGEANT, DETECTIVE, CHIEF, or any rank or division, and SAN ANGELO re-letters to your own city. The TEXAS tab can hold a badge number instead.
Do we need credentials to order a badge with a real city name on it?
Yes. Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
