Description
This Kent County Sheriff’s Office patch recreates the department’s shoulder emblem for one of the least populous counties in Texas, with Jayton as its county seat. Created in 1876 and organized in 1892, the county is named for Andrew Kent, who died defending the Alamo, and it is a ranching county where oil was discovered in 1946. The patch shows a full landscape scene instead of a badge or seal.
Shape and Border: The patch has a wide shape that tapers from a broad top to a narrower base, with rounded corners. A tan merrowed border runs around the full edge.
Center Design: A light blue sky with white clouds stretches above flat-topped brown mesas and green grass. A brown water tower with a pointed roof and a railed walkway stands at the left, and a windmill with a dark red-brown multi-blade wheel rises on a lattice tower at the right. In the center, a cartoon black bird with a white wing stripe and a large gold beak perches on a black J-shaped symbol.
Lettering: KENT COUNTY runs across the top and SHERIFF across the bottom in gold block letters outlined in brown, and the yellow tank of the water tower reads JAYTON TX in brown.
Color and Thread: Sky blue, green, and earth browns give the scene a natural look, while the gold lettering and the black bird stand out against the sky.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For a neighboring county design, see the Garza County Sheriff patch.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Kent County Sheriff’s Office design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Kent County Sheriff’s Office design, including the Jayton water tower, windmill, and mesa landscape, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
Can a town water tower be stitched with its name on the tank?
Yes. A local landmark can carry lettering, as the yellow tank of this water tower reads JAYTON TX, naming the county seat right inside the scene.
Can a patch show a windmill on a lattice tower?
Yes. A windmill with a multi-blade wheel and a lattice tower can be stitched in fine detail, as it is on the right side of this patch, a familiar sight on Texas ranch land.
What does a sheriff patch like this cost?
Estimated pricing starts at about $17 each at 10 pieces and drops to roughly $2 each at 1,000 pieces, with no setup fee. Final pricing depends on size, stitch count, and quantity, and is confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take for a patch like the Kent County design?
Production typically takes about three to six weeks after proof approval, covering digitizing, embroidery, merrowed edging, and backing. Your proof is confirmed before stitching starts.
Do I need credentials to order a Kent County Sheriff’s Office patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
