Custom Motorcycle Patches
Order Your Riding Set
Motorcycle patches follow a layout riders read at a glance: a center patch on the back, a top rocker for the club name, a bottom rocker for the chapter or area, plus small tabs, memorial strips, and dated run patches. New riding clubs, chapters, and charity rides order them embroidered on twill and sewn to leather or denim vests. Standard-size pieces start from $3 per patch in volume, every design carries a 10-piece minimum with no setup or digitizing fees, and full-size back pieces are quoted per size.
- ✓ Rush production in 7–10 days

Need a custom motorcycle patch? Request a quote.
Some agencies need a motorcycle patch the TruePatch Designer doesn't cover — a custom shape outside the standard catalog, a complex multi-layer department seal, hybrid metal-and-enamel finishes, inlaid stones, photographic memorial elements, or a one-of-a-kind department die. For these, the Owl Badges in-house design team builds your motorcycle patch from scratch. There is no design fee, no mold setup fee, and no commitment to order.
- Fully custom shapes outside the standard catalog
- Complex multi-layer seals with raised 3D elements
- Hybrid finishes — antique, two-tone, enamel
- Inlaid stones & memorial badges with photographic elements
- One-of-a-kind department dies for unique shapes
Custom quotes typically returned within 4 business hours, Mon–Fri 9 AM–4 PM PST.
How to design your motorcycle patch
A riding set comes together in three steps — choose the pieces, set the lettering and colors, then proof and order. Here is what the club decides along the way.

Choose the pieces of the set
Decide what the vest needs: a center patch alone, a full three-piece back with top and bottom rockers, side or office tabs, or a small front set. Tell us whether it goes on leather or denim and where each piece sits. Standard pieces run up to 6 inches, and larger back centers and rockers are quoted per size.
Set lettering, colors, and borders
Type the club name for the top rocker and the chapter or area for the bottom, then match thread colors across every piece so the set reads as one. Add metallic gold or silver thread for lettering or accents, choose merrowed or hot-cut borders, and keep embroidered lettering above about 4mm so it stays readable from across a parking lot.

Proof the set and order
Approve a free proof for each piece before anything is stitched, choose sew-on or hook-and-loop backing, and order from 10 pieces per design. A club that pays by purchase order can submit the set for a written quote instead. Production runs 3–4 weeks, and every file stays on record for the members who join next.

Pick the riding format closest to what your club needs, then open it in the TruePatch Designer to set the name, colors, and border — from $3 per patch in bulk.
Custom Motorcycle Patch Pricing
At the 10-piece minimum, standard motorcycle patches are $20 each; the price steps down with quantity to $3 per patch from 250 pieces, and setup and digitizing are never charged. Back centers and rockers larger than the standard range are quoted per size. Full tier detail at the price calculator.
Hook-and-loop backing, used for swappable run and supporter patches, adds $2.00 per patch. Orders of 500 and up are quoted individually. Pricing reviewed October 2026.
How many motorcycle patches should you order?
Each piece of a set is its own design with a 10-piece minimum, and production runs 3–4 weeks, so clubs size runs to the current roster plus the members they expect to add. Typical orders look like this:
| Use case | Typical order | Why |
|---|---|---|
| New club or small chapter | 10–19 patches | A piece for each founding member plus spares at $20 each; twenty brings it to $14. |
| Established chapter | 20–29 patches | Current members and expected new riders at $14 each; thirty drops the price to $11. |
| Charity ride or rally | 75–99 patches | Dated run patches for registered riders at $6 each, falling to $5.50 at one hundred. |
| Large annual run | 250–499 patches | Run patches for a big field and the merch table at $3 each; 500 and up is quoted individually. |
Motorcycle Patches at a Glance
What we recommend for a motorcycle patch
For a new club, we recommend starting with the center patch and top rocker, then adding the bottom rocker once the chapter or area is settled — the artwork stays on file, so the later piece is built to the colors you approved. Choose sew-on backing for everything on the vest back, keep lettering bold enough to read across a parking lot, and save hook-and-loop for run patches. Each choice is adjustable in the TruePatch Designer.

Does ordering more motorcycle patches cost less overall?
Nineteen motorcycle patches cost $380. Twenty cost $280. The twentieth patch moves the order to $14 apiece, which cuts $100 from the total. A chapter of eighteen riders that orders two spare run patches spends $280 instead of $360.
Each tier break works the same way: 29 patches total $406 and 30 total $330; 49 total $539 and 50 total $325; 74 total $481 and 75 total $450; 249 total $1,369.50 and 250 total $750. For 500 and up, request a written quote. Clubs grow and riders lose patches on the road, so spares in the first run tend to cost less than a fresh 10-piece order later.

Riding Patches by Use
Who orders motorcycle patches, and why?
Motorcycle patches are ordered by riders who want the club, chapter, or ride to be readable from across a lot. Riding clubs build full back sets, chapters add rockers, and charity rides hand out dated patches to every rider. Every format below is a custom design built from your own artwork.
| Use | Why riders order it | Typical design | Backing | Ordered when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| New riding club | Establishes the club's look | Center patch and top rocker | Sew-on | Club founding |
| Chapters | Marks the chapter or area | Bottom rocker | Sew-on | New chapter forms |
| Club officers | Shows roles at a glance | Office tabs | Sew-on | Officer elections |
| Memorials | Honors a rider the club lost | Name and dates strip | Sew-on | After a loss |
| Charity rides | Thanks every registered rider | Dated run patch | Hook-and-loop | Ride registration opens |
| Anniversary rides | Marks a milestone year | Dated anniversary emblem | Sew-on | Club anniversary |
| Supporters | Lets family and friends show support | Simplified club art | Hook-and-loop | Supporter line launch |
| Casual riding groups | Shared emblem without formal structure | Single round emblem | Sew-on | Group starts riding together |
Sew-on is the default for anything on the back of a vest, where pieces should not move. Hook-and-loop suits patches that change each season, such as run patches and supporter pieces. Clubs with an existing patch can send photos, and we rebuild it as a new file from the 10-piece minimum with no digitizing fee.
Reorders
How do I reorder or replace motorcycle patches?
New pieces for the club come from the artwork and digitizing file we hold for you at no charge, so they match the set already on the vests without fresh setup or digitizing fees. Reorders start at 10 pieces per design and take 3 to 4 weeks after proof approval.
New members joining
Order full back sets for incoming members from the club file, so their vests match the founders' down to the thread colors.
Adding a rocker later
Once a chapter or area is settled, the new bottom rocker is built from the colors stored with your center patch and proofed before stitching.
Worn or lost vests
When a vest wears out or goes missing, reorder the same pieces from the file on record and have them sewn to the replacement.
Next year's run patch
Each year's run design starts from the stored base art, so only the date and details change, and past years can be reordered for riders who missed them.

How to clean and care for a motorcycle patch
Road grime and weather are part of riding. These are our care instructions for patches sewn to leather and denim.
How to store motorcycle patches

Custom Motorcycle Patches, Order for Your Club
Riding sets start at a 10-piece minimum per design and take 3–4 weeks after proof approval. Where you go next depends on the job: sizing a large back piece for a jacket, switching to leather patches for the vest, or giving every member a tab of their own. Compare options for back pieces sized for leather and denim when the back piece goes on a jacket instead of a vest, leather patches for vests and cuts for clubs that want leather rather than stitched thread on the vest, and member name and title tabs when each member needs a name, road name, or officer title. All three pages share the same 10-piece minimum, and one quote request can cover the whole club order.

Reasons riding clubs order motorcycle patches
A riding patch order usually marks a change in the club: a new chapter, a new member, a new year on the road, or a rider to remember.
However the club grows, each design starts at the 10-piece minimum, and the artwork stays on file free, so later rockers, memorial strips, and new-member sets reorder with no new setup or digitizing fees. Lay out the next piece below, or request club pricing for the full set.
