Description
This Cameron County Sheriff’s Office patch recreates the department’s shoulder emblem for the southernmost county in Texas, at the tip of the Rio Grande Valley, with its seat at Brownsville. It is a classic two-tone design, with a gold sheriff’s star and gold lettering on a dark brown shield.
Shape and Border: The patch is a shield with a flat top, rounded shoulders, and sides that taper to a point at the base, finished with a gold merrowed border. A thin gold arc runs across the shield just below the top title.
Center Design: A large gold five-point star with ball tips fills the center. Its round seal reads STATE OF TEXAS in brown letters around a small red star inside a green wreath, and a small panel at the base of the star carries the year 1848 in red.
Lettering: SHERIFF runs across the top in large gold block letters. CAMERON curves down the left side of the star and COUNTY curves down the right, both in gold block letters that follow the edge of the shield.
Color and Thread: Brown and gold dominate, giving the patch a traditional lawman look, while small touches of red and green in the seal and date panel add detail at the center — a simple, strong design built around the star.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For the metal version from the same department, see the Cameron County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Cameron County Sheriff’s Office design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Cameron County Sheriff’s Office design, including the 1848 panel at the base of the star, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
Can the county name curve down the sides like this?
Yes. Lettering can follow the curve of the shield edge, as CAMERON and COUNTY do here, or run straight across. Letter size and spacing are set on the proof so the name fits around the star.
Can the date on the star be changed?
Yes. The small panel can carry any founding year, a badge number, or a short word, and its colors can be adjusted to match the rest of the patch.
What does a patch like this cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $17 each at 10 pieces down to roughly $2 each at 1,000 pieces, with no setup fee. Size, stitch count, and quantity set the final price, which is confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take?
Allow about three to six weeks after proof approval for digitizing, embroidery, merrowed edging, and backing.
Do I need credentials to order a Cameron County Sheriff’s Office patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
