Description
The Melissa Police Department serves one of the fastest-growing small cities in Collin County, on the US 75 corridor just north of McKinney. Its officer badge is the boldest graphic treatment in this stretch of the gallery: a Texas map filled with the state flag itself, carrying the city initial as a full-height monogram.
Shape and Base: The badge is a silver oval finished with fine pinstripe rays and cross-hatched accents at the cardinal points of the border. A gold ribbon arcs the crown carrying OFFICER in black block letters.
Center Design: The map of Texas spans the center, enameled as the state flag — the blue field falling on the Panhandle side, the white and red bars running across the east — and over it stands a tall black letter M monogram with a faceted gold five-point star mounted at its base. Map, monogram, and star read as one emblem.
Banner Lettering: MELISSA POLICE arcs below the map on a gold band in black letters, and a folded gold ribbon at the base carries the badge number 8500 — struck individually, so every officer in an order can wear their own number.
Tonal Detail: Silver holds the oval and ray field, gold takes the ribbons and star, and the flag enamels supply the red, white, and blue — with the black monogram anchoring the whole composition at center. It is a badge built to be recognized at a glance.
Finish Quality: Each badge is die-struck in solid metal, plated in two-tone silver and gold, filled with hard enamel at the flag map, and fitted with a pin-back and safety clasp. For the county counterpart from the same Collin County courthouse, see the Collin County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named badges for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you make a badge with our letter monogram over a flag-filled map like this Melissa design?
Yes. The construction here — a state map enameled in the flag colors, a full-height city initial in black, and a faceted gold star mounted at its base — is a layered die we can rebuild around any letter and any state. The artwork team sets your initial and flag map on a free proof before tooling begins.
Can each officer have their own number on the bottom ribbon like the 8500 shown?
Yes. The base ribbon is struck per badge, so a full order can carry sequential or roster-matched numbers for every officer at no added tooling cost, and the number list is confirmed line by line on your proof.
What does a badge with flag enamel and a monogram cost?
Estimated pricing runs from about $150 each at low quantities down to roughly $50 each at higher volumes, with no setup fee and no mold fee. The multi-color flag enamel, the monogram, and individual numbering are all included in that range, confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take?
Approximately 8 to 14 weeks after proof approval, covering die tooling, striking in solid metal, two-tone plating, the red, white, and blue enamel work across the flag map, and per-badge number striking on the base ribbon.
Can the OFFICER ribbon and city arc be changed for our department?
Yes. The crown ribbon re-letters to any rank or title, MELISSA POLICE changes to your own city and agency, and departments outside Texas swap the flag map for their own state outline and colors — all from one die so the set stays uniform.
Do we need credentials to order a badge with a real city name on it?
Yes. Badges bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
