The Rio Hondo ISD Police Department protects the campuses of the Rio Hondo Independent School District in Cameron County, deep in the Rio Grande Valley northeast of Harlingen. Its chief badge centers on a Texas map enameled as the state flag, set over a gold star on a silver sunburst field.
