This metal badge features the Limestone County Constable’s Office insignia, serving Limestone County, Texas, in the Central Texas blackland belt with the county seat at Groesbeck. It is a cut-out star-in-ring badge struck in polished silver, finished entirely tonal with no enamel and no state seal anywhere on the face.
Shape & Base: A five-point star sits inside a circular ring with the areas between the star arms and the ring pierced right through, so the star is defined by open space and meets the ring only at its points. Laurel sprays are struck in relief at the left and right of the ring, filling the space beside the upper star arms.
Center: There is no seal on this badge. The star face is covered instead with dense engraved scrollwork, worked as spirals and flourishes across every arm with stippled dots filling the space between them. LIMESTONE arcs across the middle of the star with CO. struck below it, and small cross marks sit at the base of each point.
Ring & Banner Lettering: CONSTABLE arcs across the top of the outer ring in raised letters, and the name of the serving constable, T. G. SHOEMAKER, runs across the bottom in matching relief. That places the name where a county legend would normally sit, with the county itself carried on the star face instead.
Enamel & Tonal Detail: There is no enamel anywhere on this badge and no second plating tone. Every legend, the scrollwork, the laurel sprays and the cross marks are all carried by relief in polished silver, which makes this the most heavily engraved tonal design in the gallery.
