Description
This Borden County Sheriff’s Office patch recreates the department’s shoulder emblem for one of the least populated counties in Texas, a ranching county on the South Plains whose seat is Gail, between Lubbock and Big Spring. The design is built on the Texas flag, with a shaded grey star at its center.
Shape and Border: The patch is a shield with a flat top, rounded upper corners, and sides that taper to a point at the base. A gold inner border runs just inside a black merrowed edge, framing the full design.
Center Design: The field is divided like the state flag, with blue filling the left half, white across the upper right, and red across the lower right. A large five-point star sits over the dividing line, stitched in two tones of grey so each point shows a light side and a dark side.
Lettering: BORDEN COUNTY runs across the top in bold black block letters, spanning the blue and white sections. Below it, SHERIFF’S OFFICE is lettered in black on a gold scroll whose tails curl down at each side, each tail carrying two small black stars. TEXAS sits at the base in black serif letters.
Color and Thread: Blue, white, and red supply the flag field, gold adds warmth at the scroll and inner border, and the grey star and black lettering keep the design grounded — a bright, patriotic layout that still reads cleanly from a distance.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For the metal version from the same department, see the Borden County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Borden County Sheriff’s Office design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Borden County Sheriff’s Office design, with its split flag field and shaded center star, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
Can you embroider a shaded star like the one at the center?
Yes. The star is stitched in two shades of grey, with lighter and darker facets meeting along each point so it reads as a raised, beveled shape. The shades can be adjusted, or the star can be filled in a single solid color.
Can the stars on the banner tails be changed?
Yes. The two stars on each tail of the SHERIFF’S OFFICE scroll can be kept, removed, or changed in number, and the scroll itself can be re-lettered or stitched in gold, silver, or any thread color.
How much does a patch like this cost?
Patches like this are estimated at about $17 each for 10 pieces, falling to roughly $2 each at 1,000 pieces, with no setup fee. Your final price is confirmed with a free quote based on size, stitch count, and quantity.
How long does it take to produce a Texas flag sheriff patch?
Most orders take about three to six weeks after the proof is approved, which covers digitizing the flag field and star shading, embroidery, edging, and backing.
Do I need credentials to order a Borden County Sheriff’s Office patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
