Description
This Gillespie County Sheriff’s Department patch recreates the department’s shoulder emblem for the Texas Hill Country county whose seat is Fredericksburg. A silver ball-tip star with red GILLESPIE and COUNTY banners and a Texas seal at its center fills a green patch trimmed in white.
Shape and Border: The patch is green with an arched top, upper corners that curve inward, and straight sides that run down to a broad rounded base. A dark green merrowed border runs around the full edge, with a white band just inside it.
Center Design: A large silver five-point star with ball tips fills the middle of the patch, stitched to look like a sheriff’s badge. White banners cross the top and bottom of the star, and its center is a green ring around a blue disc with a white star inside a green wreath.
Lettering: SHERIFF’S arches across the top and DEPT. sits at the base, both in large white serif letters, and the letters T, E, X, A, and S are set between the points of the star. The banners read GILLESPIE and COUNTY in red, and the green ring reads THE STATE OF TEXAS in white.
Color and Thread: Green and white give the patch a crisp two-tone base, while the red banner lettering and the blue disc at the center of the star add contrast.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For the metal version from the same department, see the Gillespie County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Gillespie County Sheriff’s Department design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Gillespie County Sheriff’s Department design, including the silver ball-tip star with red GILLESPIE COUNTY banners, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
Can a state name be spelled out between the points of a star?
Yes. The letters of a state name can be stitched one at a time between the points of a star, as T, E, X, A, and S are here around the silver star, so the badge shape and the state name read together.
Can banner lettering be stitched in a different color from the rest of the patch?
Yes. Banner text can be stitched in its own color, as GILLESPIE and COUNTY are in red on white banners here, so the county name stands out from the white SHERIFF’S and DEPT. lettering on the green background.
What does a sheriff patch like this cost?
Estimated pricing starts at about $17 each at 10 pieces and drops to roughly $2 each at 1,000 pieces, with no setup fee. Final pricing depends on size, stitch count, and quantity, and is confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take for a patch like the Gillespie County design?
Production typically takes about three to six weeks after proof approval, covering digitizing, embroidery, merrowed edging, and backing. Your proof is confirmed before stitching starts.
Do I need credentials to order a Gillespie County Sheriff’s Department patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
