Description
The Ranger Police Department serves the City of Ranger in Eastland County, a West Central Texas town on I-20 west of Fort Worth that became one of the great oil boomtowns after the 1917 strike. Its officer badge sets a heraldic eagle at the center, holding the state seal on its chest, with the city and agency names on bold black ribbons.
Shape and Base: The badge is a polished silver oval with sunburst rays radiating across the field and a large silver five-point star rising behind the center. OFFICER arcs the crown in black block letters struck into the silver.
Center Design: A heraldic eagle stands at the heart of the badge, wings raised and spread, carrying on its chest a seal ringed THE STATE OF TEXAS in red around a white star on blue — the only color at the center of the badge.
