The Quitman Police Department serves the seat of Wood County in the lakes and piney hills of Northeast Texas, a courthouse town north of Tyler near Lake Fork and Lake Quitman. Its chief badge sets a full-color state seal on an ornate gold scrolled mount, framed by a silver oval with a laurel wreath around the full rim.
Shape and Base: The badge is a silver oval bordered by a sculpted laurel wreath rim, with deep sunburst rays radiating across the field. CHIEF arcs the crown on a broad gold ribbon in black letters, with QUITMAN on a second gold ribbon just beneath it.
Center Design: A full-color seal anchors the badge, ringed STATE OF TEXAS in red around a gold lone star and wreath on blue, and it sits on an ornate gold mount of curling acanthus-style leafwork that cradles the seal on both sides.
