Description
This Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office patch recreates the department’s shoulder emblem for the South Texas Winter Garden county whose seat is Carrizo Springs. Its round seal shows a rider on horseback crossing open ground under a red sun, set on a royal blue shield with the date 1880 below.
Shape and Border: The patch is a royal blue shield with a gently arched top and rounded upper corners, and its sides taper to a rounded point at the base. A black merrowed border runs around the full edge, with a thin gold line just inside it.
Center Design: A round seal fills the middle of the shield. Inside a gold ring, a rider in a white hat sits on a brown horse crossing tan ground, with a red sun in a pale sky above. Spiky green plants rise on the right, a low green cactus grows on the left, and gray rocks sit in the foreground.
Lettering: SHERIFF arches across the top of the shield in gold block letters. The black ring of the seal reads THE STATE OF TEXAS over the top and COUNTY OF DIMMIT along the bottom in gold, with small gold squares dividing the two lines, and 1880 is stitched in gold below the seal.
Color and Thread: Royal blue, black, and gold frame the patch, while the scene inside the seal adds brown, green, gray, tan, and a single red sun.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For the metal version from the same department, see the Dimmit County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office design, including the horseback rider and red sun in the seal, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
Can a figure on horseback be embroidered inside a seal?
Yes. A rider and horse can be stitched inside a round seal, as they are here, with the hat, clothing, and horse each in its own thread color so the figure reads clearly against the ground and sky.
Can a patch use a double border in two colors?
Yes. A patch can be finished with a merrowed border in one color and a thin stitched line just inside it in another, as the black edge and gold line are here, which frames the field more sharply than a single border.
What does a sheriff patch like this cost?
Estimated pricing starts at about $17 each at 10 pieces and drops to roughly $2 each at 1,000 pieces, with no setup fee. Final pricing depends on size, stitch count, and quantity, and is confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take for a patch like the Dimmit County design?
Production typically takes about three to six weeks after proof approval, covering digitizing, embroidery, merrowed edging, and backing. Your proof is confirmed before stitching starts.
Do I need credentials to order a Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
