Description
This metal badge features the Azle Police Department insignia, serving the city of Azle, Texas, which spans the line between Tarrant and Parker counties northwest of Fort Worth. It is an oval shield badge struck in polished gold, built around a faceted star ringed by a four-word motto.
Shape & Base: The badge is die-struck as an upright oval shield, with wheat sprays worked in relief along both flanks and a stepped rim framing the face. The field behind the center is finished with a fine texture that sets the raised star forward of it.
Center: A large five-point star fills the middle of the shield, faceted so each arm splits into beveled planes. At its heart a tonal gold seal reads THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS around a wreathed star, struck in relief without enamel, and a date is struck on the star face below it.
Ring & Banner Lettering: Gold banners carry OFFICER and AZLE across the top of the oval and POLICE across the lower half, all lettered in black fill. A ring of four words circles the star between them, one to each quadrant, and a raised outline of Texas at the base carries a number.
Enamel & Tonal Detail: The United States flag and the Texas flag flank the lower half as fully modelled waving flags that stand off the face of the badge. Beyond those two, there is no enamel anywhere, so the star, the seal, the wheat sprays and the Texas outline all read through relief in polished gold.
Finish Quality: Die-struck in solid metal with a polished gold plating, hand-finished so each facet on the star holds a sharp line and the motto ring stays legible where it curves around the points. For the constable office serving the larger share of the city, see the Tarrant County Constable Precinct 7 badge.
