Description
This Crane County Sheriff’s Office patch recreates the department’s shoulder emblem for the Permian Basin county along the Pecos River whose seat is the city of Crane, south of Odessa. It pairs a gold star with the motto LAW EAST OF THE PECOS on a dark brown shield, with a small crane at the base.
Shape and Border: The patch is a dark brown shield with an arched top, rounded shoulders, and sides that curve to a rounded point at the base, finished with a gold merrowed border around the full edge.
Center Design: A thin gold ring frames a large plain gold five-point star at the center of the shield. At the heart of the star sits a round seal: a red ring around a light blue disc holding a gold five-point star inside a wreath. Below the ring, a small gold crane stands at the base of the shield, a nod to the county’s name.
Lettering: SHERIFF arches across the top of the shield in large gold block letters, with LAW EAST OF THE PECOS arched in smaller gold letters beneath it. The red ring of the seal reads THE STATE OF TEXAS in dark blue, and CRANE and COUNTY curve along the lower left and lower right of the shield in gold.
Color and Thread: Gold on dark brown carries the lettering, star, ring, and border, while the red and light blue seal gives the center a bright point of color.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For the metal version from the same department, see the Crane County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Crane County Sheriff’s Office design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Crane County Sheriff’s Office design, including the LAW EAST OF THE PECOS motto above the gold star, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
What does LAW EAST OF THE PECOS mean on this patch?
It is a play on the old Texas phrase “Law West of the Pecos,” made famous by Judge Roy Bean, and it places Crane County on the east side of the Pecos River. A local motto like this can be arched under the title on any patch.
Can a small emblem like the crane at the base be added to our patch?
Yes. A small figure that plays on the county or city name, like the crane here, can be stitched at the base or in the corners of the patch, sized so it stays recognizable without crowding the lettering.
What does a sheriff patch like this cost?
Estimated pricing starts at about $17 each at 10 pieces and drops to roughly $2 each at 1,000 pieces, with no setup fee. Final pricing depends on size, stitch count, and quantity, and is confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take for a patch like the Crane County design?
Production typically takes about three to six weeks after proof approval, covering digitizing, embroidery, merrowed edging, and backing. Your proof is confirmed before stitching starts.
Do I need credentials to order a Crane County Sheriff’s Office patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
