Description
This Cottle County Sheriff’s Department patch recreates the department’s shoulder emblem for the Rolling Plains county south of Childress whose seat is Paducah. It centers a gold sheriff’s star with light blue scrolls on a black shield, with SHERIFF and the county name arched above.
Shape and Border: The patch is a black shield with an arched top, squared shoulders, and sides that curve in to a rounded base, finished with a gold merrowed border around the full edge.
Center Design: A large gold five-point star with ball tips fills the lower half of the shield. Two light blue-gray scroll banners cross its upper and lower arms, and between them sits a round seal: a navy ring edged in red, with three small white stars along its lower edge, surrounds a light disc holding a silver five-point star inside a green wreath tied with a red bow.
Lettering: SHERIFF arches across the top of the shield in large gold block letters, with COTTLE COUNTY arched in white beneath it. The upper scroll reads SHERIFF’S and the lower scroll reads DEPARTMENT in navy, and THE STATE OF TEXAS circles the seal in white.
Color and Thread: Gold on black gives the shield strong contrast, while the light blue scrolls and the red, navy, and green seal add color at the center of the star.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For the metal version from the same department, see the Cottle County Sheriff badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Cottle County Sheriff’s Department design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Cottle County Sheriff’s Department design, including the gold star and the light blue DEPARTMENT scroll, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
Should our patch say Sheriff’s Office or Sheriff’s Department?
Either can be stitched. Some agencies use SHERIFF’S OFFICE and others, like this one, use SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT, so the scrolls are lettered to match the name your agency uses on its badges and vehicles.
Can the county name be stitched in a different color from the title?
Yes. On this patch SHERIFF is stitched in gold and COTTLE COUNTY in white, which separates the title from the county name at a glance. Any two thread colors can be paired the same way.
What does a sheriff patch like this cost?
Estimated pricing starts at about $17 each at 10 pieces and drops to roughly $2 each at 1,000 pieces, with no setup fee. Final pricing depends on size, stitch count, and quantity, and is confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take for a patch like the Cottle County design?
Production typically takes about three to six weeks after proof approval, covering digitizing, embroidery, merrowed edging, and backing. Your proof is confirmed before stitching starts.
Do I need credentials to order a Cottle County Sheriff’s Department patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
