Description
This Montague County Sheriff’s Office patch recreates the office’s shoulder emblem for the county whose seat is the town of Montague. Created in 1857 and organized in 1858, the year stitched on the patch, the county is named for Daniel Montague, a surveyor and soldier who fought in the Mexican–American War. A two-tone star behind a flag-colored Texas map, framed by gold laurel branches, fills the center of this black shield.
Shape and Border: The patch is a shield with an arched top and straight sides that taper to a point at the base, finished with a gold merrowed border.
Center Design: A five-point star split into gold and silver facets sits behind a Texas map in the colors of the state flag, blue with a white star on the west and white over red on the east. Gold laurel branches curve up on either side, and a small gold star sits at the base.
Lettering: SHERIFF runs across a gold top band in large black block letters, with MONTAGUE COUNTY in gold just below. A white scroll reads PROUD TO SERVE in black, a white panel under the star reads 1858, and TEXAS sits beneath it in gold.
Color and Thread: The black-on-gold title band sets the top of the patch apart, while the flag-colored map and the white scroll and panel stand out against the black field.
Finish Quality: Each patch is embroidered with full-coverage stitching on polyester twill, finished with a merrowed edge, and offered with iron-on or sew-on backing. For a department in the same county, see the Bowie Police badge.

🛡 Authorized Purchase & Credential Verification
Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers must provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. We do not sell agency-named patches for personal use.
Custom and fictional designs — for example, a made-up department like “Town of Western Hope Police” — are welcome, as are designs where you change the agency or department name to your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order a custom patch like this Montague County Sheriff’s Office design?
Yes. Owl Badges embroiders custom patches to match this Montague County Sheriff’s Office design, including the black-on-gold SHERIFF band, PROUD TO SERVE scroll, and 1858 panel, or adjusted to your own agency name, colors, and size. You receive a free digital proof before production begins.
Can SHERIFF be stitched in black on a gold band instead of gold on black?
Yes. Reversing the colors, as with the black SHERIFF on the gold top band here, makes the title stand out from the rest of the patch while keeping the same gold and black palette.
Is Bowie in Montague County?
Yes. Bowie is the largest city in Montague County, while the town of Montague is the county seat. The county was created in 1857 and organized in 1858, the year shown on this patch.
What does a sheriff patch like this cost?
Estimated pricing starts at about $17 each at 10 pieces and drops to roughly $2 each at 1,000 pieces, with no setup fee. Final pricing depends on size, stitch count, and quantity, and is confirmed with a free quote.
How long does production take for a patch like the Montague County design?
Production typically takes about three to six weeks after proof approval, covering digitizing, embroidery, merrowed edging, and backing. Your proof is confirmed before stitching starts.
Do I need credentials to order a Montague County Sheriff’s Office patch with the real agency name?
Yes. Patches bearing a real agency or department name are sold only to that agency or its authorized representatives. Law enforcement and public-safety buyers provide proof of occupation, valid credentials, or an authorized purchasing letter before production begins. Fictional or fully customized designs with your own name are welcome without that step.
